Cathedral Rock Elopement in Sedona, Arizona

July 3, 2020

Having a 2am wake up call is pretty intense, but I had just got my second Canon 5D Mark IV and a brand new lens, so what better way to test it out than with a styled elopement shoot with some amazing photographers.

Jordan and Spencer were our beautiful models for the morning. They have been together for 2 years and met at a nail salon! Spencer would go in to get her nails done and since Jordan’s mom owned the salon, he would help out by coming and answering the phones. Now 2 years later and they are so in love! We all woke up super early to drive from Phoenix to Sedona and then started our hike to the top of Cathedral Rock at 4:30am!

Headlamps, hiking shoes, wedding dress, florals, and our camera gear and we were ready to go. Now this hike is short, I believe the round trip is only 1.2 miles. But it is steeeeeep (744 ft elevation gain to be exact), and we all were feeling the two hours of sleep we got the night before. But once we got to the top I understood why we put ourselves through the hard hike. I believe there is a saying that states, “The best view comes after the hardest climbs.” And this right here, has one of the best views of Sedona! Are you ready to see it?
