My love for Chautauqua Park starts back in 2020 when I visited Boulder for the first time for Sarah and Vince’s wedding. To get up to their ceremony location I had to pass Chautauqua Park. I immediately knew it was on my bucket list to photograph at when I was back in Boulder, Colorado. The day after I even went and scoped it out, hiked the trail and snapped a few photos on my camera. I imagined then how beautiful an elopement at Chautauqua Park would be.

Fast forward to 2024, I got to head back to Colorado for a beautiful wedding at Mountain View Ranch in Pine. While I was in town I had the opportunity to finally check Chautauqua Park off my bucket list. The day after my wedding I got to meet up with Shea with Purposeful Photos, Lexi, and Jake for an elopement shoot and I could not have been more excited!

Chautauqua Park Elopement

The day of the photoshoot I drove up early to scope the area again and make sure there were no major changes. It was very sunny and warm but as I was walking around I could see dark clouds rolling in. I started to watch the weather app like a hawk. Luckily, a storm was passing through behind the mountains so I had my fingers crossed that it wouldn’t cross the front range. I mean, I was totally down for a rainy elopement too!

The storm ended up being a blessing though, although the clouds covered the sun it really cooled the temperature down and it got very windy. The wind y’all… it made for some EPIC photos. Getting to re-visit Chautauqua Park with Shea, Lexi, and Jake really overfilled my cup and was perfect for my last day in Colorado.
